So what is the process and how long will it all take?

In the first instance we have to meet so we can answer your questions and find out what it is you would like. If we are providing a CMS site we take this chance to show you how a live site looks and operates from an administrative perspective.

Once we have all the information about your needs a price and payment plan would be agreed.

We then collect any relevant information for the site from leaflets, brochures, branding or via e-mail.

We take an in depth look at your competitors websites and at the market sector in general.

At this point we design the 'site foundation' to test colour schemes and the general feel of the layout, menu structure and header images. All our sites are tested in IE6, 7 & 8 as well as Safari, Chrome, Opera and Firefox. At this point we meet again to take your thoughts. Changes are made as required and the rest of the information is loaded.

Once the last of the information is on the website we upload the site to a live environment and return to train whomever will be updating the site. Of course at this point the new site does not replace your existing site until you are fully ready.

Setting up the e-mail - All domains and hosting accounts come with unlimited e-mail accounts and this can be configured in a number of ways.

When the content is right and the team are ready the site will go live

Search engine optimisation will then happen

How long?

We can give you a good idea when we meet for the first time. Clearly the scale and size of the site is an important factor but usually we can have a foundation design within a few days. Training of staff takes around 4 hours per person although we can train small groups. If the site is 20-30 pages with 1 or 2 members of staff to train then 2 weeks from start to 'go live' would be a fair asessment. We avoid the term 'finsh' because a website is never finished however the go live point is the moment when everyone is happy enough to publically release the website.
